Sound Discovery® is a synthetic phonics programme for the teaching of reading, spelling and writing developed by Dr Marlynne Grant, educational psychologist in South Gloucestershire. The children are taught grapheme-phoneme correspondences and the phonic skills of blending and segmenting, and how to use this knowledge in reading and writing. It is delivered through Snappy Lesson®, fast-paced sessions consisting of appropriate multi-sensory activities.
